Hi! Thanks so much for dropping by the page! Welcome to the East Lansing Area Families for Autistic and Developmentally Disabled Children’s Education and Support (ELAFACES) webpage! I created this group because there is a similar group in Ann Arbor, MI (A2FACES) that I was a part of when I lived in A2 that was an amazing resource for me as a parent of an autistic kid. When I moved to the EL area last year, I had some trouble finding a similar online community/source of information, so I decided to create my own.

There are a few ways to connect with us:

  • For those of you on facebook, we have a facebook page where I tent to post local events and some interesting news.

  • I just recently created a meetup.com group, but won’t be adding too many events until we get at least a few more members. I will be adding our bowling group schedule to it soon and am toying with a mac and cheese cooking social meetup for the children. The group is free for members, but you do have to create an account if you don’t already have one. To join the meetup.com group, please go to the following site:

  • If you prefer email communication, you may want to join our listserve. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this type of service (don’t worry, you are not the only one..others have asked me), it is an email-based community where all interested parties join this “listserve” and if someone sends an email to the listserve, it gets sent to everyone on the list. I have found this to be the quickest way to get word out, but it is not everyone’s cup of tea. Of note: I moderate all emails sent out, so there shouldn’t be any spam. I also try not to send out a ton of emails myself…just some interesting events or related news that are coming up.
